A chance to catch up and ease into the session together, and arrive in time for meeting to start on time.

Meeting Agreements (10 mins) [12:00 - 12:10]

Quick review and alignment on how we want to engage during this session.

  • Who will receive the transcript and produce and distribute a meeting summary, by when?

Habit review (5 mins) [12:10 - 12:15]

Let's identify one or two agreements from the charter we'd like to form habits around.
This becomes a opportunity to quickly reflect on how this is going.

Optional reports (no theatre*) (5 mins) [12:15 - 12:20]

Share important updates that you believe are necessary.
Ideally you already shared this info asynchronously prior to the meeting.

*"No theatre" is an acknowledgement that this activity can incentivize well-intentioned yet performative behaviour with little actual benefit to the group.

Triage (build agenda on the fly) (7 minutes) [12:20 - 12:27]

How to create and format an Agenda Item:

Structure your agenda item as though you are getting a need met. You should be able to identify what 'complete' looks like for now and assess how long you think it will take, and how important it is (on a scale of 1-3, 1 being most important).

Examples:

  • Nominate a person to attend a conference (2, Alice, 4 min)

  • I am experiencing a tension around _____ and need a brief discussion to help find direction (1, Michael, 10 min)

  • [Describe your agenda item] ([priority level], [your name], [estimated time box])

Closing Retrospective (5 mins) [13:17 - 13:22]

Quick reflection on what you noticed, what you’re  celebrating, and potential actionable improvements.
